We will then continue to ascend towards the upper section of the valley to marvel at the extensive mass of the valley's geological formations: Hoja (Blade), Máscara (Mask), Espada (Sword), Catedral (Cathedral), Aleta de Tiburón (Shark’s Fin) and the magnificent Fortaleza (Fortress).

The goal of our 6th day is to complete the most famous trekking trail in Torres del Paine National Park! Today we will walk from the campsite towards Hostería Las Torres before ascending to Ascencio Valley on the Tower’s eastern face.
Mountain ridges, beech forests, and small rivers line the scenic walk towards the valley. Our big challenge is the steep moraine, a huge mass of boulders that lead to that iconic base of the Towers, the three gigantic granite monoliths that are the remains of a great cirque sheared away by glacial ice. After a tough uphill climb, the Towers eventually come into full view, rising majestically before us with the glacial lake visible below. Is there any better place in
the world to have lunch?
After feasting on the view, we backtrack along the same trail through Ascencio Valley and return to EcoCamp for a well-deserved dinner.

Sleeping accommodations are a combination of hotel stays, refugios, and sustainable, geodesic dome lodging as detailed in the itinerary.
Refugios are similar to dorm-style sleeping with bunk beds in a communal sleeping space. Bedding will be provided.
The geodesic dome lodging is the world’s first geodesic hotel room featuring a charming interior with a large warm bed and linens, skylights with views of the stars. Without heating but cozy and snug with fleece blankets.
-
This is a trekking trip, however it is not a backpacking trip so you will not be carrying a large pack. Porters transport your luggage to each new overnight accommodation. You will carry a day pack (recommended with hydration bladder) to hold your needed gear (sunscreen, water, camera, extra layers, etc.) for day hikes.
-
Food will vary depending on the location. Camp food and refugio food are quite basic, while EcoCamp provides beautiful meals.
All dietary requests can be arranged in advance.
-
There will be some minimal access to electricity on the nights you’ll be staying at EcoCamp. Most likely you will be able to plug something in, however this is shared electricity so it's not guaranteed. If you need a charge we recommend bringing a charging block.
-
There are showers and toilets at EcoCamp and of course your hotel accommodations. At refugio accommodations there are also showers and we practice “leave no trace” practices for elimination on trails and outdoors.
-
You can find a packing list here. We will also go through gear questions in more detail in our two pre-trip calls.
-
It is recommended that you do practice hikes, walks, or strength and cardio conditioning to prepare for this trip. 3 months out you’ll receive our pre-trip preparation guide that comes with a training plan.
