Day 1

Arrive in San Jose, Transfer to Arenal Volcano
Arrival at the Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO) in San José. After passing through immigration you will meet your driver for a private transfer to the Arenal Volcano (3 hours).
Arenal volcano was the most spectacularly active volcano in Costa Rica. For 30 years spectators could views fresh lava flows and red hot boulders ejecting from the volcano glowing in the darkness.
For the past seven years the red hot lava has been biding its time and activity at Arenal has been limited to puffs of steam and a few deep rumbles. No one can predict when this quiet cycle will end and the glowing red orange cone will once again dominate the night sky. Even when it’s not erupting spectacularly the peak is still an imposing and beautiful sight.
Day 2
Your first day of adventure in the Arenal Volcano National Park.

Arenal Reserve Zipline and Tram Tour
After breakfast we head to the Arenal Reserve, including the Sky Trek zipline tour for the ultimate adrenaline rush. You will ride an open-air gondola from the ground to high up in the forest canopy where you'll be dropped off at an observation deck for fantastic views of the volcano and land below. From the observation deck, return to the ground below by riding down on a circuit of ziplines stretching across canyons and treetops.
Zipping along nearly two miles (three kilometers) of cables, you will see the rain forest as well as panoramic views of the volcano and lake. The ten zipline cables range in height from 100 to 650 ft and in length up to nearly half a mile!
Day 3
Arenal Hanging Bridges put you eye to eye with the monkeys and birds.

Arenal Hanging Bridges
This morning we visit the Arenal Hanging Bridges. Here, you can relish in the incredible biodiversity and lush forests while enjoying 15 hanging bridges spanning up to 330 ft long and walking along a 2 mile interpretive trail to further experience the fauna and flora.
With a naturalist guide, the natural history and biodiversity will be visible for you to embrace the fascinating and colorful tropical rainforest. The imposing vistas of the Volcano from the hanging bridges over the forest make a perfect combination for an unforgettable experience.
Day 4
We’ll make our way to the pleasant beach of Santa Teresa

Arenal to Santa Teresa Beach
We begin the morning with a private transfer from Arenal Volcano to Santa Teresa Beach, on the Nicoya Peninsula (approx. 5 hour drive).
The Nicoya Peninsula offers some of the finest beaches and marine habitats in Costa Rica. Once only frequented by die hard surfers coming for the consistent beach break, this area is slowly becoming a favorite for high end luxury tourists and Hollywood celebrities.
From dawn to dusk you’ll have the sand between your toes and the sound of crashing waves in your ears. Whether you’re a novice or seasoned surfer, the conditions here are perfect. Of course, you could just swing gently in a hammock in your bungalow or beside the pool.
With the wildlife-rich jungle behind you and the ocean in front, you’ll be surrounded by natural beauty. Beach hop your way along the Nicoya Peninsula, on foot, surfboard or even on horseback. Visit the mighty Montezuma Waterfall. Swap sandals for hiking boots to trek Cabo Blanco National Park and visit Curu Wildlife Reserve. Or take a boat and escape to the talcum powder sands of Tortuga Island.
Days 5-7

Surfing the Pacific (half-day): After a leisurely breakfast, get ready for a half day surf lesson. We'll be met at the hotel by our local surf instructor who will take us to the best surf breaks, depending on tides and weather. After on-sand instruction, we hit the water to tackle the waves. Whether you are an expert surfer or first-timer, our instructors offer the expertise needed to ensure you have a great time. After a couple hours in the water, we'll return to the hotel for lunch. Opt to join the group in a group yoga class or opt to spend some time on your own.
Zipline Mal Pais: Zipline from one tree to another on one of the most beautiful ziplines in the country, enjoy the view of the landscape from a unique perspective being on top of the trees of the forest.
ATV Tour, Visit Montezuma Waterfall: Ride an ATV through the dirt roads reaching the south side of the peninsula discovering empty white sand beaches. From Montezuma we take a short hike to the impressive falls where you can swim in the natural pools and then enjoy a Costa Rican lunch in one of the best local restaurants in downtown. You’ll also have the chance to shop from local artisans.
Day 8
Farewell beautiful Costa Rica!

Transfer: 1 hour flight, 30 min domestic flight to the International Airport
Farewell to the Land of Pura Vida
Shuttle to the Airport in Tambor, Nicoya (1 hour) for your domestic flight to San Jose (30 minutes). Upon arrival in San Jose, transfer to the International Terminal, where you will meet your flight home.
